Google Translate now supports Farsi

Farsi, the most commonly-spoken language in Iran has become the 42nd language available on Google's translation service.

While Iran is in the throes of political unrest, Google is hoping to improve the country's "access to information" and communicate directly to the world.

Google Translate will now translate any text - a news story, a website, a blog, an email, a tweet or a Facebook message - from Persian into English and from English into Persian.

As of now the service is optimized for translation between Persian and English only but Google's working to improve Persian translation for the additional 40 languages available via Google

Google is also inviting users to correct an incorrect translation. A "contribute a better translation" link has been provided for the purpose.
