You might be wondering what makes the new Iphone 3G S so fast as compared to its predecessor?
Rumors have it that this is because of a chip. Why rumors if the phone has already been launched?
This is because of the fact that Apple doesn't disclose chip-level hardware specifications.

Now what does Apple actually say about the new Iphone :-

Speculations are that iPhone 3G S's application processor--essentially the brain of a smartphone--is similar to the processor used in the Palm Pre. The Texas Instruments' chip in the Pre is also a Cortex-A8 design core from ARM.

The picture will be more clear when specialists have access to Iphones and can rip open its hardware to find out the truth.
