My Take on this is that it is good that rapidshare has introduced such a system because everybody can't afford a premium account (But everyone wants to download content! ;) So it'll be good considering the various options given in the link.

But the challenge for the users as always would be to get their friends and others to click on the referral links to generate some priviledges for themselves. Because in this tech-savvy scenario, even if somebody gives a referral link to anybody, even if they want to join the service, they remove the referral ID and do so :P

Do tell me what is YOUR take on this newly introduced referral system.
